Meet Mercedes

CURLY HAIR & BEAUTIFUL COLOR

Mercedes is a Dallas native who recently made her way back home after five years in Austin—and we’re pretty happy to have her back.

Her history with Kaycee goes way back. Mercedes first started working with Kaycee in August 2016 behind the front desk at Dear Clark. From there, she went through the salon’s education program and developed into the fantastic stylist she is today. She eventually headed to Austin, where she spent several years at Milk + Honey building her career before returning home to Dallas and joining Clark and Company.

Mercedes describes herself as a bit of a “general surgeon” of hair—she does a little bit of everything and does it well. But curly hair and color are two places where she really shines. She loves working with natural texture and creating shapes that make curls easier to wear, understand, and embrace.

Color is another big part of her world, particularly balayage, dimensional color, and customized color that works with the haircut and natural texture rather than against it. Mercedes likes looking at the whole picture—cut, curl pattern, color, lifestyle, and maintenance—rather than treating each service as something separate.

More than anything, Mercedes is genuinely easy to talk to. She takes the time to understand what you want, what works with your hair and your life, and what you realistically want to maintain. Her chair is warm, relaxed, and refreshingly easy to settle into.

A Spanish-speaking stylist and mom to one very sweet little girl, Mercedes is incredibly family-oriented. Being back in Dallas means being close to the people she loves, and when she isn’t at the salon, there’s a pretty good chance that’s exactly where you’ll find her—spending time with family.
